Founding members of Strata Community Association (SCA) Victoria
Victoria Body Corporate Services (VBCS) was founded in 1982 to provide management services to owners corporations, stratum estates and company share scheme properties.
Founder, Herman Klein, was the principal of a public accounting practice. Many of his clients owned investment properties. Utilising Klein’s skills as a Certified Practising Accountant and qualification in Law, VBCS commenced operation specialising in owners corporation management.
Fast forward to today and VBCS has grown to become one of the largest owners corporation management companies in Victoria, managing over 2,000 buildings.
Being a founding member of Strata Community Association (SCA) Victoria, VBCS provides a comprehensive service for all types of owners corporations with expertise in townhouses and small apartment blocks, large high-rise apartment buildings, mixed-use residential and commercial buildings, industrial complexes, community associations and hotels.
Delivering tailored management solutions to its clients, each VBCS community manager is responsible for a diverse portfolio of properties, offering high-quality, professional and a personalised service.

In 2020 Smarter Communities made a commitment to the Forktree Project located in South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula to help improve the health of the planet.
By participating in this project, Smarter Communities has committed to becoming carbon neutral within five years through the plantation of 900+ plants.
This is an ambitious yet achievable target, demonstrating the company’s dedication to restoring and reforesting neglected farmland for the purpose of land regeneration and carbon offsetting as well as re-establishing the native Australian habitat.
As a responsible corporate citizen, Smarter Communities is always prepared to support the community in times of need. This ranges from providing financial support to organisations such as Red Cross, Beyond Blue, Lifeline, St Vincent de Paul Society to team members giving up their time to support charitable organisations/events.

Jake was outstanding in difficult time. Our property presented a range of complicated challenges including detailed Engineering reports, problem contractors, fraudulent material being circulated, legal challenges and one owner who absorbed an incredible amount of resources from VBCS and the owners corporation. As the Chairman of the Owners Corporation it was a pleasure dealing with Jake who was honest and straight forward and supported the OC through tough circumstances resulting in the OC avoiding several catastrophes.
